Fishing the shoreline at Trout Run has been good with many days still seeing little or no wave action. Abundance of steelies are stacked up in Trout Run. Poor Richard's Bait & Tackle - Fishing Status Michelle Richardson and daughter Lindsay of Belle Vernon, PA came in for their Angler Award for Walleye. Although, not the most popular eating fish the meat is delicate with a slightly sweet taste and is often cooked, flaked and made into "fish cakes" or pan fried if you don't mind picking through the bones. Perch fishing seems to have picked up as well with many limits reported in only a few hours. Caught a few good size walleye and missed a big steelie at the boat. The Walleye seem to be around where boaters are fishing for Perch. They came in yesterday and didnt quite make the size for an Angler Award. He caught it on the South side of the marina in Walnut Creek on power bait. It took him 2 minutes to hook the first fish. We just use one rod, with human rod holders.
